Complete Art Theory

First of all I must write that I am talking of my own mind processes. I am writing because it may be useful to others.

Shading  - I have an indigenous Shading technique. 

Shadows - I have drawn Art on Shadows.  It is a great way to render. I now have understood this part.

Perspective and shapes - I believe 1 to 1 ratio and 1 to 1.618 (golden ratio) and 1 to 0.618 ratio are inbuilt inside me. I am aiming to perfect my observation skills using this advantage that I have (so I believe) and render Perspective and Shapes on paper as Art. It is mainly an observation technique. 

That leaves reflected light.

And IT images.  Digitally enhanced images.

Reflected light - Practice needed. 

IT images - I plan to use DaVinci app. And I have ordered a mobile stand from Amazon.  It will arrive on Monday.  ( I hope to perfect my IT images rendering).

My essay

First of all this one.

Then my thoughts. 

You may be knowing that I am self learning art. I have made a cosine theory. I have posted about it in my Power of your company blog earlier today.

My cosine is of body. It is of light and shades.  Shadows by the way are different.  Shadows are just dark. I hope you are following me. Shades however can be colored.  Dark red to light red gradually. 

I shall be going ahead with teaching myself with the above points in mind. But as I want to be perfect in future I shall use 📏 ruler to measure and then render the drawing.

If you observe closely I have used only shadows to draw the holding handle, riveted triangle plates and the rivets in the front side. 

The padlock is black in color and the white portion is the light.

Recent paintings

The grey paper book arrived yesterday. 

I did two watercolor pencils paintings. I have written earlier about watercolor pencils.  To me it is a great invention.  Apply like pencils.  Spread like watercolors.

However. 

Are watercolor pencils great for realistic rendering? Are they great for portraits?

Camlin oil pastels (50 shades; about 250 rupees) are good for portraits drawing.  Camlin poster colors(steel box of 12 colors; 185 rupees; yellow, orange, red, blue, brown,white,black) for portraits are also good. I use skin colored pencils (Mont Marte; Amazon) in combination with poster colors for portraits.

My theory and what I follow

I am teaching myself in art.

My ultimate objective is that my right hand and fingers is able to deliver anatomy, perspective and shading all correct at all times and every time when I take up pencil and paper.

And my aim is also that mind = thought = hand at all times and every time when I take up pencil and paper.

At this point I must say that 3D is presently there in my art.

I have summed up my theory and what I follow.

If you like my theory and do not know where to start, then I have a suggestion. 

Buy HB pencil set. Buy normal A4 papers. Buy the book "Fun with a pencil " by Andrew Loomis. And start. YouTube videos might confuse you.

Final thoughts

IT is a boon for Indians. The way ahead is through IT and using IT in a right way.

Frankly I do not like drawing from imagination. Drawing a single guava and hundreds of hands around it trying to take the guava might depict hunger but I am not for it.

It is better to draw a cartoon and make fun of political parties and netas.

So what is the way?

Asaro head.  It has planes. And IT media can clearly show planes.

Asaro body. It has planes. And IT media can clearly show planes.

If one can afford then one can buy Asaro head and Asaro body too from their website.

As Indians are predominantly vegetarians the step suggested should be welcomed.  I feel.

Building etc and plants and flowers and fruits should not be a problem. 

And many guys shade in an excellent way and hyper-realistic art is also welcome. 

Overall art study and art practice in India is possible.  

That makes me happy. Jai Hind !!

Drawing from books is fine as you get to learn from masters. The shading. The perspective. The angle.

I am drawing sketches from Giovanni  Civardi book. 

Giovanni Civardi is a master artist and he has a beautiful approach to drawing. His strokes are simple and very elegant and most beautiful.  His hands and legs drawing are amazing.  Top of the world.

It is copying all the drawing from my master Giovanni Civardi.

The book above has ✏ sketches of everything.  Portraits,  landscape, clouds, clothing,  hands, feet and more.

I shall just copy from this book. In this process I hope to learn.

Manna Dey had a unique voice. Assamese, Nepali type. He was popular too. "Zindagi kaisi hai paheli", "Koun aaya mere"  songs are good.  Listen to these songs to know what I mean.
