My portraits hover around middle tones

Currently my portraits hover around middle tones.

I use HB pencils from start to finish. Giving lesser pressure for low values. And more pressure for high values. Result my portraits stay in middle tonal range.

I need to use H, HB,2B etc. to get a portraits that stands out. 

But I have a problem.  I am absent minded. I need guidance.  Just like MKGandhi had support from English women, I expect support from German blondes. After all I think like Gauss only. 😆😆😆
