Drawing two portraits is tough. Both have to be okay. Sort of AND gate.

In fact a single portrait is also tough for that matter as all the components of the portrait have to be correct.  Again an AND gate.

I tried SPB and S Janaki both. So that I know where I stand. How is the art work,  dear readers!!

Need to buy

I need to buy Camlin color palette. It is likely to be available in local shop. I do not have a palette and have been using utensils till now.

The above is for watercolor and skin colored pencils combo for portrait drawing.

Then of course, I have Camlin oil pastels and Yissivic pencil set too for portrait drawing.

For cartoons I have Yissivic pencil set.

Mano, Tamil playback singer

 

This artwork is based purely on resemblance. No proportional divider or tracing method used.

I followed Pencilperception.com advice.  No smudging. 

What I did here was I used a page from my drawing notebook.  I used a normal HB pencil. And drew Mano, Tamil playback singer. I shaded with pencil but never smudged.

A realistic approach with resemblance approach. That is what this portrait is.

Is there market for resemblance based realistic art?

Strength

I have a theory on resemblance in portraits.  I believe this theory works. 

Weakness 

Fidelity.  Today's art demands exactness. I don't have exactness. 

Opportunities 

An excellent digital camera is a necessity.  To click photos of subject in sunlight.There are hundreds of good budding artists from whom I can get lessons of accurate anatomy,  shading hairs, shading skin, shading pores.

Threats

Uncooperative finances. Cooperation is vital. But that is hard to get. Not every Organization is like Amul.

My response to SWOT is watercolor and skin colored pencils portraits which is marketable.
