My portraits hover around middle tones

Currently my portraits hover around middle tones.

I use HB pencils from start to finish. Giving lesser pressure for low values. And more pressure for high values. Result my portraits stay in middle tonal range.

I need to use H, HB,2B etc. to get a portraits that stands out.

But I have a problem.  I am absent minded. I need guidance.

Have a nice day !!

"Daddy !! Why don't you dress according to nanima's choices. You unnecessarily get scolded by mummy on your dressing sense. Nanima does not like it at all !!"

Jaideep Ahlawat

From my recent two artworks,  it is clear that I have seen "Drishyam 3 the conclusion ".

Rajat Kapoor and Jaideep Ahlawat were heroes for me. Ajay Devgan seemed absent !!

"I know it is difficult to get 100 rupee notes these days. So make the guru dakshina as 4 into 500 instead of 4 into 100. This is correct according to sayings also. As they say, giving 1 guru more dakshina is equivalent to giving 108 normal men."

Skull drawn

The skull was drawn. Ochre notebook.  White charcoal pencil. Normal HB pencil.

But there are shortcomings.  Hope to draw better next time.

Two things are focused

I am focusing on two things in art

1. Get maximum 3d effect on 2d paper

2. Quality improvement

Look at the artworks below. There are so much of 3d in them

Michelangelo

DaVinci

I want to make my skull drawing a great 3d drawing.  I shall use white pencil, black pencils in Ochre colored paper.

Quality Improvement shall be done by doing DMAIC for mam made objects like interiors with furniture,  exteriors.  And PDCA For humans, animals shall continue.

Thanks for staying with me.  Bye.

My four driving principles in art

My four driving principles in art are :-

1. Treat (head, hands, feet) as separate and clothes as separate. This helps me in cartoons very much.

2. Cosine hatching. Cosine hatching has helped me in getting realistic shadings.

3. Triangular mesh with contour shading. A more 3d look can be given if we follow the triangular mesh method with contour shading inside the triangles.

4. PDCA drawing improvement method for living things like humans, animals; and DMAIC drawing improvement method for man-made things like furniture, buildings.

Goodbye, folks.

Skull model

I wanted to improve my portraits and caricatures drawing.

I had ordered skull model from Amazon.in. It arrived a while back.

Practices with this skull in drawing will definitely improve my portraits and caricatures.

Thanks to Amazon.

Recent Activities

My present activities are

Osteology for anatomy

I am not focusing on objects in front and township drawings as there is rainfall and power cuts here in Ranchi.

SAIL township, Ranchi

My foldable chair arrived yesterday.

But I did not use it. Instead I clicked a photo and drew this from mobile image.

This is my first drawing of Ranchi SAIL Satellite Colony.

Is art level 85 to 90 feasible?

I have interacted with Google Gemini and I have found that my art level is 50 to 55.

The greats like Proko, Kim Jung Gi,  Rembert Montald,  David Finch are 95 to 100.

Can I reach 85 to 90 level ? This is the question I asked myself.

I am interested in 1. Objects in front drawing.  2. Comics drawing.  3. Anatomy drawing.

Luckily,  I have an analytical mind and have mapped my weaknesses.  They are

1. My perspective point changes over time when drawing an objectin front. Possibly I have fish eye problem and I need conscious correction.

2. Form making of shapes imagined or seen,  is weak. I have weaknesses in 3d carvings, 3d mannequins. I need practices.

3. Shading. My shading is average and my shading need to speak. So to say. I need improvement.

If I improve first ;5 points will rise. If I improve second ;10 points. And if I improve third; 20 points.

Then I shall reach 85 to 90.

My Ranchi Quarters

Here are 7 drawings that I did in last 4 days of my Ranchi quarters.

I thought of getting a feedback through number of viewership and your valuable comments. Before I get into township drawings.

I am still waiting for my foldable chair.  And Anatomy book.

Objects in front

Anatomy

I don't try to show off with my drawings.  I am humble in front of masters.

I am doing this blog post to apprise my blog readers as to what I am currently doing.

These two practices shall continue for 6 months or more. Till I get great mastery.
