Actual portraits and realistic and hyper-realistic results need more hardware. Camera for instance.
I have understood the anatomy of a typical face. I am confident of tonal control too.
But I think I must take up hands and feet of Giovanni Civardi and Andrew Loomis. As I do not plan to get myself a camera.
What happens when an image is edited and tones changed? My answer is then the Areas where tones are changed no longer exhibit the property of light but exhibits the property of water.
Do you think my intuitive view is correct?
