(I made an error in this art. My rendering is below par. However,  my resemblance theory is working.  And working with Proportional divider.  This is my edge, I feel. Meanwhile I will improve rendering)

Ajay Devgan, bollywood star

First step

Using HB pencil draw Ajay Devgan from tablet image onto paper. I use proportional divider. I also use Andrew Loomis method and Asaro head method while drawing.  I try to follow my own method of resemblance while drawing.

Second step

Apply watercolor on face area and head. Oops !! Ear lobes left out !! Shall manage in third step with skin colored pencils.

Third step

Now shade the face with skin colored pencils.  Once the watercolor has dried.

That's all.

Merry Christmas to all my blog readers!!

Taking a break

It is futile to aspire to become like Guan Weixing or Jung Hun-Sung or Sadashiv Sawant. Because in Ranchi I don't have that much of a setup.

But I won't sit idle. I shall be practicing Asaro head from all angles.

Till then. Bye !!

Attempted Watercolor Portrait

I am awed by the beauty of watercolor 🖼 in portrait drawing. I like them a lot. But unfortunately I don't have a teacher.

Though I did watercolor portraits earlier,  this one is professional approach. I did three layers.

The subject is an arbitrary man.

Today I tried this one. I shall practice more on these types till I get confidence.

And then I will attempt real faces.

Finalized color combination for a man and a woman. Most of the drawings I am planning to do will have this coloring.

But the journey is long. Draw from mobile. In proportion.  In resemblance.  Then watercolor like above. This is my immediate future plan.

Current Future Plan

My current future plan is portraits.  Both men and women.

Materials?

My Acer Windows tablet. Derwent Proportional divider. Camel Oil pastels.  HB pencil. A4 sized paper.

Difficulties?

I believe I had flavour in my portraits.  But portraits is also about proportions.  Mixing flavour and proportions is a very big difficulty.

Time frame?

It would be a lifelong endeavor.  But I want to get rid of the difficulty stated above in 3 months. By March 2022.

Any other resources?

Internet.

Book on Watercolor Pencils

My book on Watercolor pencils was delivered.  It is a great book. I like the book a lot and find it of immense value.

Works of NIFA

Above are some of the works of NIFA.

They are all outstanding. If you look at them deeply you realize that the colors, gradience, perspective and the concept are great.

I wish all the best to NIFA in achieving the objective of quality education in art.

Permit me to offer one suggestion though.

Today is the world of IT and mobile 📱.  Therefore there is a need to educate considering the IT impact. I want NIFA to take up hyper-realistic art and Google images drawing.

My best wishes to NIFA.
