Drawing Perspectives

 

I am practicing perspectives.  It is not that you think and draw lines. It is about your hand making strokes automatically. 

This is very important skill. I lack it.

But my strokes do have cosine built in them. So I am lucky my shadings are good.

Automated perspectives are a final frontier. You need to think of big and small, overlap, folds and waves . . . .

I do not want to try with watercolor pencils now. This one is drawn with oil pastels.

"The Artists complete guide to drawing the head" is a very suitable book. I recommend this book to portrait artists.

Recent purchase

I bought Staedtler Luna watercolor pencils recently.  A mechanical pencil and a 4B pencil were free with them.

The reason for buying color pencils was this. I have 50 colored Camel oil pastels.  Oil pastels were not ideal for portraits.  Even though my portraits are of A4 size still finer drawing is not possible with oil pastels. So I bought Staedtler Luna color pencils. 48 pieces.

The Funda of watercolor pencils is this. One can use them as normal color pencils. Or/And one can dab a painting brush in water and spread the colors of pencil. Great !! (The Luna color pencils are made of water soluble pigments). 

I shall experiment and try to post a drawing made with them. But later !!

Realistic Portraits and Caricatures (or) Resemblance Perspective and Cosines (RPC)

My objectives in mathematics are over. I am not able to think more. 

I shall now be concentrating on portraits and caricatures.

My objective is RPC. Realistic Portraits and Caricatures. 

My method is RPC. Resemblance Perspective and Cosine.

Resemblance method is hour glass with two chambers and hour glass with one chamber. 

Perspective shall be improved using a book that I have.

Cosine is the shading method as light and shadows follow law of cosine.

I intend to attain my objective of RPC using the method RPC in 4 months. By 2021.

Does my drawings resemble real people?

With pencils they resemble to 85 percent.  With pastels 70 percent.  Resemblance has to be 95 percent to be a professional.  This is what I believe. 

Why do drawings when Resemblance is about 70 percent?

This is because I experience golden ratio. I see golden ratio naturally. 

Do I know what I lack?

Yes. A great teacher. Thorough practice under a guru. To undo bad practices.  To do good practices.
