Webtoon is my way

I made a few decisions in my art endeavor.  Webtoons are my way. By webtoons I mean comics for smartphones. Smartphone comics are suitable because I plan to tell an incident rather than a story.

I don't plan to get my comics published online.  I just want to improve quality over a period of 4 years.

I am upto 70% satisfied with my artwork.  And 60% with my coloring. I plan to improve this. In the potential.  In my style. I want my characters drawn like Tintin,  Archie's. Simple lines. Simple eyes, simple nose.

In artwork I lack actions. 

In coloring the gradience are not smooth. The distinct layers are visible.  Also I need to add another layer for light colors.  What I mean is just like shadows with a darker tone, I want to add lighted areas with lighter tones.

I don't study art or mathematics.  But I have a research mentality.  All my expressions in mathematics are done with the help of Wolfram Alpha.  In art I want to improve quality by following PDCA cycle. So it is research I do and not studying.

Finalized my coloring

You may have observed that my coloring in the earlier Webtoon was not good.

I have improved my coloring now. And finalized my drawing. I shall now take up "BEHAVO" subjects. Also I shall spend time in paper art and do paper portraits of important people.

Guys, I tried to make a Webtoon.  No. I am not going to publish my work on Webtoon.  The quality is not good. But instead I am posting in this blog.

Finalized color rendering

I have finalized my satisfied colored rendering in digital platform.

Coloring is indeed very complex in digital art and the below is giving me satisfaction. Below is done in Microsoft Paint.

I am currently using Clip Studio Paint Pro. I shall be using that for my comics. The title for my comics is likely to be 'BEHAVO' because it is about correct behavior. Apart from Measuring Behavior, I intend to use equations of Up and Working and other personality expressions.

A step closer

I plan to start comics. But not in near future.  Maybe 4 or 5 years later. The urge to do comics is very high. And I believe I can do so many drawings a comic requires.  The reason for starting a comics is ; very bad behavior of Indian people in general. A well off man can refuse to share food with a very hungry man. Such is the behavior prevalent in our society.  I want to make change by moulding the young.  I have measuring behavior equation and plan to use it and tell relevant stories. 

In this regard I made a drawing . I plan to file these and observe progress. I may use colors too at a later stage.

Going digital is some other calculations and meanwhile I am staying with paper. 

Normal A4 sheet. Parker black ink. American nibs and nib holder.

I was inspired by the latest movie starring Shahid Kapur and Kriti Sanon.

Hence I drew both of them. I like both of them a lot.

I am more of a technical person than an artist.  I can see solutions to problems a beginner may have. I don't think I see the beauty that much. But am interested in planes of face, image enhancements,  light, shadows, gradience. My level is medium and I am more than happy for that.

Deeper desires

I do have very deep desires in art. Five of them. I am carrying them in my thoughts,  mind and spirit. I am not able to get rid of them, quite frankly. 

They are

1. Become a  very great comic artist. Like Stan Lee.

2. Become a very great portraits artist. Like Nestor Canavarro. 

3. Become a very great funny caricaturist.  Like Tom Richmond. 

4. Become a very great hyper-realistic real objects artist. Like Marcello Barenghi. 

5. Become a very great monochrome pencils landscape artist. Like Frank Rines. 

No I don't have desires in mathematics.  At all.  Seriously this is the truth.

My dear Blog readers,  are you able to read my mind ? 

I don't think so. Let us empathize with one another.  Let's get peace for ourselves.  Let's enjoy small things in life.

A sigh of relief

Wow !! I am so happy.  There is no end to my ecstasy .

The reason is there can be a cartoon book. Just like there are comics; there can be a cartoons book. Oooooh !!! Hoooooo !!

Now I shall develop in cartoons line and tell stories; all in cartoons book style.

That's a huge sigh of relief  !!

"I know you are depressed.  You are not actually reading the kindle book.  I will suggest that you do home accounting,  groceries rate comparison at different outlets or tourist options in different states for passing time instead of thinking negatively. "

On comics objective not finalized

No. My comics objective is not finalized.

Comics are great media.  I can be a screenplay artist and an art director.  And I feel these two roles are very powerful and inspiring. 

But alas my drawings are not so good. Not as great as drawings of great comic artists.

One thing worked for me when I transformed myself from stick type drawings to ' To the point ' cartoonist.  My drawings of 5 poses. Two sides, two 75% and one frontal. I practiced these for human figures a lot.  Day in and day out I will do them.

Unfortunately I did not have a vision and I restricted drawing 5 poses to humans only. Not animals.  Not objects. 

I also didn't focus on outdoor drawings.  Or indoor drawings.  Or human emotions.  Or strong figure drawings like Superman or Superwoman. 

Now, I don't have the motivation. 

So, I am waiting for inspiration.  . . 

On portraits being finalized

I have 5 options on my portraits drawing.  They are :-

1. Crayola skin colored pencils 

2. Mont Marte skin colored pencils 

3. Brustro skin colored pencils 

4. Faber Castell polychromos pencils 

5. Crayola skin colored wax crayons 

I have finalized my media for portraits drawing. And that is Crayola skin colored pencils for face and Faber Castell polychromos pencils for clothes and hair in A5 Brustro grey drawing notebook. 

I have finally found my MOJO in this approach.  Two results.
